Additional caster race

Postby Kudaith » Wed Jun 29, 2016 8:24 pm

Just to put it in there for whatever point in the future....wish list for additional racial options, particularly with medium-to-good caster capabilities:
Ratfolk (because I play one in a D&D campaign and catfolk is waaay overdone, plus druids have panther-shift).
Some kind of fiend- or plane-kin or "touched" (tieflings but another name obviously)
I'd love a goblinoid based caster but I'm not finding much inspiration online from other goblinoid races that would fit unless start adding "half" or "blood" ancestry.

It's the Ratfolk thing. I wrote something about possible (monster) races and Ratfolk were amongst them. Ratfolk have always been a favorite of mine (hense the vermin race in Alura). Maybe it's a leftover from The Secret of NIHM and the visuals that movie left with me.

The Rattkin from Wizardry were great, and Skaven from warhammer... I love both of those buggers :)

Gotcha.

Yeah, I've started enjoying Tibbits (another campaign), but I'd still like to see a furry, clean (not automatically mangy sewer rat) type of mouse/ratfolk added.

Ratfolk never came across as a caster race to me, since they're more of a dumb muscle type species in every other media I've seen them in. It would be an interesting departure from the norm to make them casters here though.

Watch The Secret of NIHM. It's amazing what you can find on Youtube....

There's a D&D Uneartched Arcana (reddit) description that provides some variant options akin to Halflings.
