Something like this might be better. Larger font, black outline (hard to see but it does work a bit), and less transparency but still there.:

I can eventually probably have it as a toggle setting for opacity though the image will be trimmed that way. Not a big deal though.

I'm not sure if an actual color for an outline would be better. I.E.

What do people think? I prefer black glow but that's just me.

I prefer the black outline. Its a minor detail anyway. I was thinking about the char info being on the right side and the mob/player list on the left. Could this be a bit confusing as for clicking habits? We will get used to it in time of course, i just dont know how much of an issue can be for some people, i guess we ll find that out once we play it.

The designer (Ghost) was a professional artist, he actually deals with this as a real time job though, but I understand why he'd do it this way too. In terms of actual how you perceive things (I believe that's what it would be called) this setup works best. Quote>>

We train our brains to prioritize and filter information. For example, people who speak languages that are written left to right (like English) focus more attention on the left side of of a page...

The stats of a player and general usage of potions is often not needed, but the player list is a high focus often for people. The right side can have things you just need to glance at (minimap is probably the highest priority on that side, but with minimaps you don't need to hard focus and it can be left in the corner of your eye and you can still deal with it no problems.) But I'll also try to make it so you can organize all the sidebar gadgets so if someone wants the minimap higher, it will be possible.

I think it's mostly just a familiarity with ROK but it will soon pass anyways. If it doesn't work afterwards we can adjust it. I think people just need to get used too it though.

I found out I don't think I can do transitions properly, they don't seem to work unfortunately so nicer effects like smooth resizing of the window bars (when scaling/etc) won't be possible for a little while. I will have to create my own functions to do it and it's not worth the time at the moment.

However, here is what happens when you click the HIDE PANEL button at the bottom right, which works now. It will attempt to scale the image if it isn't long enough regardless.

Going to make sure the expand/retract works properly on the sidebar widgets soon. I spent a good while making a room image system that will resize properly if it is needed, and will show more of the image if it exists, otherwise resize to fit window. Not sure how it will look with the cutoff on some images but we'll see first when it's in game eventually.

Have to say. I love the way the client is looking. I will really enjoy having everything right on top if it can be managed. No more switching tabs to view the map, inventory, character info.

So far I am really impressed with the attention to details in Ember.

Could you change the stamina color and make the HP bar green / yellow / red at certain percentages?

Also, it would be super great if the hp/mp/st bars got moved up a bit and we had a bar of toggle buttons for Attack, Skill/Spell instead of the wand thing on the right side. And a eyeball for looking over something. Left click, green border, right click red border around the button. (colors are your prerogative, of course.) If I had for example: Attack, Examine, Spell/Skill, Spell/Skill and I could assign whatever to it, that would be cool. Maybe I want to nuke then debuff.

Also, I think you plan on rearrange-able panels, but I think by default you might want to swap the hero info and the map. I have a large computer screen and to go from the mob list the opposite corner to see the map is .. wow :P
In fact, you could pop the map right on top of the mob list. I don't think it needs to be that big, right? lol

Like an action bar where you could drag skills/spells and click them?

I meant left click to assign to mouse 1, right click to assign to mouse 2, etc.. as opposed to opening a macros window, which is far more complicated. (simplicity is key!)

^^ Selectable abilities. But, with an ORB that has a small down arrow on it, of course not ugly like Excel :P

Action bar would be useful for something like a utility belt for potions and stuff. ALT+1, etc.

^^ Selectable items.
