I do think this idea as merit in approaching the "gold issue" in a different angle.
We always worry about "taking gold out of the economy", but why not work on making sure only appropriate amounts of gold enter the economy?

Currently it is possible to farm items for gold, which sell for a pretty sum. Shouldnt we "nerf" those, since many of those items serve to nothing except to make gold?

The issue is right now I think the gold is at an OK place for general players. Granted we nerfed alot of higher end OAD gold cash cows that were a problem, but I don't think the gold is too far off. Honestly theres not many people who had 'a super ton' of gold and the people that do often play far more than others, and actually build on gold. If the gold was limited even further you would struggle to level and buy potions. We had alot of issues back than and I think it's at a good point now. When you actually are a potion whore too, you might spend 5k-10k on pots just for one run when your the person keeping everyone alive. It adds up for them though anyways.

There is nothing to use it on end game. There will be, houses, clan houses (which is gonna eat alot.) custom things, that will be rather expensive and should suck out alot of gold.


The economy isn't bad to be honest, the game has been up since the wipe for about a year now and I don't think the gold levels are too far off what they should be. You can't balance the game off people who play the game for hours and hours a day though.

Maybe we should think about a gold distribution system where people who play more often and more effectively (thus have more gold) have to pay a tax of some sort that is used to help people who refuse to dedicate time or energy to the game. Giving to those people might motivate them to go out and earn for themselves.

I'm tired of seeing the good players who dedicate countless hours every day to the game make up the top 1% when it comes to the economy. The rest of us want shiny toys too.
