Clarification on divinity ember drops

I've noticed before monsters listed as one divininity dropping embers of other divinity but so far I've written it off as the divinity list being wrong. Today though I saw a Corrupted Guard drop an earth ember. Corrupted Guards were created neutral div and since I've had several divinities kill them I haven't noticed that any divinity gets a bonus against them. So I'm wondering why a neutral divinity monster drops embers at all. Since ember drops are so rare, there isn't an easy way to test the drops.

My understanding is that monsters could only drop the ember of their divinity. Is my understanding wrong, has something changed, am I wrong about Corrupted Guards.

A corrupt guard dropped a extinguished earth ember.

yea neutral and evil will drop random (whatever build decides) embers. No real reasoning for which ones drops I usually try to fill gaps where I can when setting mine. All npcs for the most part whether neutral or not drop embers at the same rate depending on level and type of monster (reg, hourly, key boss and boss).

I could see evil divinities dropping each ember but at /5. I.e. if its 0.5 percent, then each ember would be 0.1 percent. But I guess thats not a big deal right now :>
