So I'm in the helper channel and people use it quite a lot. What do we think about letting people who have set themselves as a helper talk in the same channel as the new people? Instead of paging them I mean, because that's a little wonky and who knows who else is paging them as well.

Is there a downside to this I'm not thinking of?

We had that option and people were using it as a global chat instead of its purpose of helping newbies.

You can already be banned but I don't want to micromanage all the time. You can only reply via pages right now because I'd rather not have to ban people over a silly thing if abused. And people were abusing it, literally everyone.
