Hey guys! The big update is now in testing with us staffers to try to remove any bugs that are around before releasing, though we still have to do some scripting updates and the tool to update the server files to the newest version, but we are getting pretty close now! The general lot of hard coding is done now though and I'm pretty happy with it now.. I expect this to be released in early August when I am back from Denmark as I don't want to release while I'm in the middle of vacation in case there is a big issue or problem that arises. Now, let's talk about more things in the update!
You will be able to equip one knapsack that will grant up to 4 additional slots. For 3-4 slot knapsacks it will most likely be some sort of OAD or part of the new crafting system that will be coming out after the update. The 1 and 2 slot knapsacks will probably be fairly easy to get. Expect them shortly after the update.
In a future client I hope to have it simply add a new row to the inventory when unlocking more slots, but it's not so simple here with the old client, so instead we opted for lock icons when they aren't available to you. You also gain 4 equipment slots as well! This is due to help with the new equipment items such as the knapsack, boots, gloves, etc. The equipment slots are not locked and will be coming to you soon as the update is in.
Divinities will matter a little more after the update. We will be adding a agility bonus or negative depending on who you attack. If you attack someone who you have divinity on, you will get gain 1 agility for those attacks. If you attack someone who has divinity on you, you will lose 1 agility for those attacks. This may be changed to a different amount (lower agility gain/loss) if it is too extreme, but I feel like this should be OK and should be enough to make divinities matter a little more.
For magic users, it is similar, however, it deals with wisdom instead of agility. Your pierce rate will be easier on an opponent whom you have divinity on, and harder for an opponent who have divinity on you, by 1 wisdom point.
Premium should be coming with this update and will allow you to get some neat things and help support the game/server. Premium is NOT a pay to win model! There are three levels of premium, Bronze, Silver, and Gold. This may be changed so take it with a grain of salt at the moment... But let's talk about premium benefits you will gain:
-Your global account vault is doubled to 100 spaces.
-Premium will grant you a house at any PVE city location you want. Houses have customizable details such as image, description, and minimap icons. Bronze gets a 3 room shack with a 50 item storage and 50 food/potion item storage. Silver gets a 7 room house with 150 item storage and 100 food/potion item storage. Gold get a 11 room mansion with 250 item storage and 100 food/potion item storage. Silver/Gold will have some additional benefits as well (Healing rooms, training rooms, etc.). Houses can be shared to two accounts as well for access.
-Premium members can reclaim characters that have not been on a certain amount of time and are under level 8. 1/2/3 times depending on premium level per month. There may be a small gold fee in this.
-Premium members can rename their characters 1/2/3 times a month. There may be a small gold fee in this as well to prevent rapid changing.
-Premium members get 25 extra character slots. (50% more)
-Premium members will be able to spin a 'wheel of fortune' X times per month (still a WIP) and win fun things. Some rewards are:
--Passive pets that cannot attack or be attacked and give small XP bonuses (similar to basic XP scrolls), they may HIDE in unsafe areas to prevent clutter.
--Masks that change your character image
--Items that add lines to your description on look over
-All 'wheel of fortune' items have an expiry timer on them, however, a premium member will be able to reset expiry on a certain amount of items, thus being able to keep the items they REALLY like as long as they have premium!
There may be some other small things you can gain but this should be the bulk of it. We may eventually bring in more rewards to the wheel such as rename your items as well, but this won't be in initially and will most likely be a 'wheel of fortune' spin reward.
I'd like to say this again: There will be no items that modify stats, weapons, armors, etc. There never will be. It's mostly glam and spots to store your goodies, and you will be supporting the game stay alive per month as the server is fairly costly.
Guild Key Vaults
Every guild will have a key vault per city. This is not to do with guild halls! This will allow guilds to remove storage characters as we are trying to reduce people to one account per player in the near future. Officers can withdraw, and Members can deposit from key vaults. The key vaults can store up to 100 items that are 'keys', not including stacks. The vault will refuse to store anything that is not specified as a key. We may of missed some keys but we can easily add them when the time comes!
Global chat will be coming in. You can opt out to leave global chat, or hide it from your main window and just use the GLOBAL CHAT tab. Global chat has a fairly lowkey sound (which can be disabled) to help distinguish it from other chat. There are some features in place such as you can only send a message every X seconds, reporting players (which gets posted to discord), etc, to help prevent abuse.
On top of the main global chat channels, you can also make private channels. Private channels can be invite only and also have similar features to the main chat channels. This should help bring the community a bit closer to each other without having to be in game guilds but will also be moderated to make sure the main global chat channels are free of toxicity.
Discord Bot For Guilds
A discord bot will be coming for guild chat and will be available on your private discord channels. You will be able to chat with players out of game and vise versa, get notifications such as people who which to join your guild, etc. We'll be expanding this feature as it goes though!
The updated launcher fixes a few things and adds a couple new features as well. It will most likely be released sooner than the client due to fixing a few issues people have been having with the current launcher. It displays things such as news, if the server is down (though won't appear until the server update), etc. The updated launcher also fixes a big problem where the launcher takes several seconds to startup on some machines. The launcher should now be fast and only require initial setup the first time it is run. No more delays getting into the game!
The client can also experience this 'slow to launch' issue, and this was also fixed! Awesome!
Hope you guys enjoyed 'Update Details #2'. I'll try to post #3 with more update changes sooner than later while we're going through testing/finalizing the update! Thanks!
