Not too bothered about this idea:
You can gamble items in the hope of a humming.
You need X amount of the same item to gamble, the items get used up and you end up with one item that has a chance of coming out hummed (could even add gold to the mix: gold + items or just gold).
Gold/Item Sink (although crafting/enchanting is meant to be coming out soon eh).
Speaking of enchanting... I was thinking a % chance to get what you want, if it fails you get a random effect (as in no 100% guarantee you will get what you want).
