I love how you used the competition to actually meet a real-world need (ie being able to play ember at work without looking suspicious etc) that would allow more people to play for longer. I think open-world pking system is a good thing and should be preserved. But there are some design dynamics that make victims feel very powerless (hence the calls for ‘harrassment’).
