From what I've seen you can upgrade your pet to give it added abilities such as heal, the heal will heal itself and everyone in the party. A ranger can heal his pet in combat but its at a reduced rate, you heal it for more out of combat. So moving a little slower if you have a ranger buddy in a smal...

Something that would be nice that you can possibly add now would be having spells like Stoneskin show a different color when it fades. Fizzles too would be nice.
