Barbarian Changes

Postby NiteHawk » Sat Apr 11, 2020 5:34 am

Hello!

We have added some barbarian changes to make them a little more interesting. They are in game already and may be tweaked in the future. We have attempted to make them more useful but still keep them simple compared to others. We're also looking at adding crowd control/special abilities as we go from here out on classes too.

A. Now has focus points. Focus points work differently than knights however. You gain focus points when you MISS instead. The total focus points are based on your strength and are not level based. (25 strength = 12 focus points, 23 strength = 11 focus points, 21 strength = 10 focus points, etc.)

B. Each focus point you have gives you 1% more damage. Changing targets and moving will reset your focus points to 0. (Sitting around and doing nothing will also decrease your focus points, but slowly.). The idea is the more you focus on a target, the more damage you will do.

C. Weapon Specialization added:
--Two hand weapons: Same as before. Weapons with a moderate damage bonus and a special bonus such as critical hits.
--Swords: No bonus, pure damage. Using two swords will give you the best damage overall but no special bonuses. (So two swords is still the best 'overall' damage, while two handed weapons are the best burst damage when you land a critical for example.)
--Daggers: +0.4 attack agility, 0.075s exhaustion time reduction.
--Hammers: 4% chance to silence the target for 2 rounds (4-8 seconds). NOTE: NPCs with a rarity of 1 and below can be stunned. (Thus no unique mobs at this time can be.)

These effects STACK and can be mixed! This means two hammers will give you 8% silence chance. Using one hammer and one dagger will give you 0.4 attack agility, 0.075s exhaustion reduction, and 4% chance to silence, etc. The silence chance will apply to any attack as well.

D. Can no longer use staves. I removed this to keep the above a little more simple for now, and their damage is just far to low to even compete.

E. No longer gain a bonus for damage based on HP, (This has obviously been moved to focus points now which has more control.)

---

There will be no race changes give for these modifications, as if you are a ling or if you are a half-orc, the same idea still applies to what they are used for. (I.E. Lings are speed with moderate MR/moderate damage, and half-orcs are damage based with low MR/low AGI.) There will also be no weapon swapping of any kind from me, if you want to start using daggers or hammers, that's your call and you'll have to find new weapons for it. Using swords still hasn't changed, and still has an importance to barbarians (highest damage).

Enjoy guys. I know they didn't need much, but hopefully makes them more fun. We may tweak the above in the future. Thanks!

P.S. Remember daggers give attack agility, which is visible in /pinfo. It won't be visible on your stats.

P.P.S. Right now they can silence targets that have normal rarity or lower. Unique mobs cannot be silenced at this time.
