assassin autosneak
Re: assassin autosneak
Since were on the topic, is it possible to have it use stam in real time, instead of all of a sudden you use 4 and are exhausted? or is it ment to be like that? like sneaking and it uses 1... 2.... 3.... 4

You would never get exhausted cause you would turn it off when you hit one stam, wont be changing it to that. It's meant to delay you if you do it over time, then renable it after 8sec

Re: assassin autosneak
Although killa's argument wasn't a good one this is a tad bad for leveling purposes, when in large party's you sneak to avoid dragging and causing issues but you get exhausted quite often so your Lvling speed is reduced compared to others, specially since you won't see assassin's spending points on intelligence and you end up with very few movements before going exhausted.
I understand the purpose on higher levels, as in 25s but during Lvling this is cumbersome and counter productive.
I honestly don't have a clear idea of what would be a good balance for it, but honestly assassin leveling is bad as it is with moving all the time to Backstab running exhausted too often is frustrating too.

An idea (doubt it will happen - maybe been mentioned before?) Change backstab. Make it use two attacks with a small delay between it and the next attack, no jump out jump in (consider it a "precision strike" or "aimed attack"; the assassin is maneuvering himself to strike at a weak spot). Problem is, will that make it unbalancing (which is kinda why I mentioned a delay in attack though)?
Basically:
You make the backstab attack,
Pause 1 2
Attack lands (or not as the case may be).
Some things to think about with the current backstabbing process:
Any kind of lag makes the process annoying as hell.
Jumping out and in changes the order or people/monsters in that square (can be annoying, depends on if your using a macros or clicking).
In places where your locked in a square or where moving out is problematic, your at a disadvantage (I am mixed on this one).

There is no point to sneak when you're in party of non-sneakers, unless you are the party leader.
That's the trade off though. Not dragging as leader is a big thing, use it in certain situations, doesn't have to be on all the time. Keep it on macro, enable when needed, disabled when done. But it's not meant as a leveling tool, nor is it ever going to be
Daed: We had a poll on this because originally I wanted to change it, but people disagreed with not moving back and forth to backstab, so it was left.

Yeh I thought it had been mentioned. Funny how the same things turn up over and over.

Sorry you likely missed my point or I wasn't clear enough, the issue with leveling is that often when you're in a large group killing 3-4 mobs, you wanna sneak outside and back in to get a backstab in (so you don't drag monsters ouside the square), meaning that you always end up losing one round of attack due to being exhausted, that's point 1;
Point 2 is, when people move you either always have to turn off sneaking and then back on when you're gonna start fighting (to avoid dragging), otherwise you already start the fight exhausted.
Having said all that, Backstabing is exhausting enough because for one attack you gotta move twice, hide and then hit, while a Monk, Knight, Barb, Sorc are constantly spamming one key. So as you can see, you have more downsides (meaning more time you're not actually fighting) as opposed/compared to other fighting classes, I understand that you could argue that backstab has a bonus multiplier associated with it, my complaint is, leveling 400 million is exhausting enough if you're only pressing one key, moving constantly, being exhausted constantly and taking less shots at Killshots has all the more disadvantages to it.
so my suggestion is, you might wanna look into making assassin's leveling less harsh, I understand that end game this might be working fine since you don't kill as many monsters and you're balanced out for PVP, but PVE this is "exhausting".
Here's a few options/ideas which I've entertained:
- Reduced Drag % for Assassins - While this would certain help/reduce the issue because you could level without using auto-sneaking, it might make solo lvling harder cause you take longer to split monsters apart;
- Scale Sneaking Exhausting Differently - Meaning lower levels can move longer before being exhausted, while higher levels is the opposite;
- Assassins Exp Table - It might require a % reduction compared to other fighting classes;
- Hide Mechanism - Maybe change the hide mechanism to be more auto-sufficient, meaning pressing /hide would auto-magically throw a smoke bomb or move to enable hide to work

Re: assassin autosneak
People have already discussed the /hide mechanism but it came out flat overall. I could see about making hide work regardless if you are in the same room, but if you get searched out, you'd have to wander off and come back to /rehide again. That was the second option people had before choosing to leave it as is. People might have a different take on it now though.
The biggest fear is that yeah, they are harder to level, but they are scary as shit as level 25ers. Giving them bonuses like that make me think that it'll be super hard to deal with a slayer if he can constantly hide like that. Maybe removing 25mil/50mil could be a thing but then I don't feel like this should be done to a large extent though.
The autosneak itself could have a larger 'to exhaust rate' at lower levels and scale slower. I.E so you end up with around the same as you would now at level 25 but you'd start off with more.
P.S. AS is dependent on both INT and LEVEL though, just to state.
