Dec 1st Balance Changes

-Smite is now 8mp.
-Half-orcs gain +1 str. I have added it to everyone manually who was a half orc.
-Saurians lose -2 base armor, and have +2 to start.
-Cavalier bonus adjusted to 5% hit rate bonus.
-Passive armor was reduced from 20% to 10% at 100 armor. (I.E. take your armor and divide it by 10%. That will be your percentage reduced per hit.)
-Active armor (Deflects and Absorbs) changed.
--Each shield point is 0.9% deflect. (So a 16 ac shield would give 14.4% deflect for example)
--Shields do 20/30/40/50 instead of 15/30/45/60 now.
--Each armor point is now 0.5% absorb. (So if you have 70 body armor (not including shields), you would have 35% absorb rate).
--Body armor does 20/30/40/50 instead of 10/20/30/40 now.

What the above does though is mostly make it so body armor is slightly more useful, theres no more 10% absorbs, minimum is 20%. Body armor and shields can stack obviously. Before hand shields I feel gave a little too much. Hopefully this change makes it still useful, but helps out body armor only classes a bit.

Half-orcs are going to be the random hit wonders of the game. Specially with +1 to str. They will deal heavy damage, but obviously they will suffer from lower hit rates.

Saurians I did remove -2 to base armor, just to help out a little. We'll see how it goes though. Doesn't make that much of a difference though.

P.S. the 10% was removed in favor of making active armor more useful, and that's also why I removed some to passive.

So your regular hits will feel a little more punchy, specially against heavy armor crits. (AKA benifits lower armor crits like med/etc more then heavy).

So half orc can roll 24 str now, and do they lose a stat elsewhere or did you add a stat point to their pool?

I added one to test, but we'll see. They get 103 right now. tpyically +3 extra after putting into everything, which is still lower then saurians get.

That is the intention, bricks that hit hard (when they do). Something different in that case. AGI might still have to be shifted but I think it makes half-orcs rather unique now.

I'm all about moving things forward and changing things up. Let's just recap the changes that have taken place over the past few days.

Hit rate increases for some classes.
Overall hit rate increase for everyone.
Reduced the reliability of armor and shields.
Give half orcs an additional strength point.

All of these things point to shorter fights and more incoming damage for players. I thought the fights were supposed to last more than 2 rounds, maybe I was wrong. I hope more people speak up if they have any input on things, maybe more people should complain because that always seems to trigger changes.

What fight lasts less than 2 rounds show us so nitehawk can figure it out. Oh the one in the tourney last night where i got killed in 2 rounds exactly lol. That was b4 the changes tho. Id love to hear the input too ill refer people to the thread we all should

I feel the changes made were fair, maybe I'm wrong but it looks to me like he made armor more relevant not less?

The best way to balance the game is we just play it hardcore, and show nitehawk the info if you notice something. That's what we've been doing to better the game (not just duels and shit, everything). Consistant data going one way or the other could possibly trigger a change of some sort in some aspect if deemed necessary
